Atheist bus campaign does not violate advertising standards rules
Well, for goodness sake, how could it? With such a hard hitting slogan as ‘There’s probably no god‘ it was undoubtedly going to get some Christians (I wonder why the Muslims have been more quiet on this issue?) hot under the collar, despite the fact that they are allowed to plaster the place with pro-God messages of hope, salvation, damnation, or whatever particular bent of their faith is.
Having been doorstopped by Jehovah’s Witnessess today (and enjoying greatly my ‘I’m an atheist, so you’re wasting your time’ line) it was nice to see the ASA soundly throwing out any further claims that the Atheist Bus campaign in some way breach advertising standards.

“Well, for goodness sake, how could it?”!!! How I smiled at the sweet irony.
And they wrote “There’s probably no god”, which is far better than “how can you say that God does not exist”. As an agnostic, I sure did like the statement as it was made. I don’t usually like the term “atheist” because I hope he exists, although I am not quite sure of this possibility.
